Trifecta Chicken Wings

Directions for not one but two ways to cook wings - air fried and oven baked!

Even better... I have a video for you showing every step detailed below.

Ingredients

  • 8 full chicken wings

  • ~1/4 cup neutral high-heat oil

  • 2oz each of Bourbon BBQ, Zesty Orange Ginger, and Honey Roasted Garlic sauce

  • Extra of each sauce for dipping or a final glazing (see below)

Directions for Air Fryer

  1. Open the package of chicken and spread out wings on a platter; place back in refrigerator for 1-2 hours to dry out

  2. Remove chicken from the refrigerator and blot off any remaining moisture

  3. Sever chicken wings into drumettes and wingettes (aka: flats) and place on cooking rack or fry basket with enough space between them for air to circulate properly

  4. Heat air fryer to 380º

  5. Once heated, place in the fryer for 24 minutes, flipping them once after 12 minutes

  6. Remove from fryer, baste or toss with the sauces (~5 wings per sauce)

  7. Place back in the fryer at 400º for ~5 minutes, until the sauce has turned into a glaze

  8. Remove and either give each wing a final coating of sauce or serve with sauce on the side for dipping.

Directions for Oven

  1. Open the package of chicken and spread out wings on a platter; place back in refrigerator for 1-2 hours to dry out

  2. When ready to cook, heat oven to 400º

  3. Remove chicken from the refrigerator and blot off any remaining moisture

  4. Sever chicken wings into drumettes and wingettes (aka: flats)

  5. Put the pieces in a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and toss to coat thoroughly

  6. Remove and place on an elevated cooking rack with a tray below it (to catch the oil/fat) and with enough space between wings for air to circulate properly

  7. Cook for ~45 minutes, flipping them once after 22 minutes

  8. Remove from oven, baste or toss with the sauces (~5 wings per sauce)

  9. Place back in the oven for ~5 minutes, until the sauce has turned into a glaze

  10. Remove and either give each wing a final coating of sauce or serve with sauce on the side for dipping.
